Conservation Volunteers: Vegetation Clearance

Working with the Ranger Service to carry out practical conservation tasks

We need your help to cut back encroaching vegetation at Harlaw and give the area a summer tify up.

Booking: Essential

Bring: Sturdy footwear, waterproofs and gardening gloves if you have them.

Suitable for over 16 years.

Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary Butterfly

Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary Survey

Join a Ranger to help survey for this beautiful but locally rare butterfly. Found only in the Edinburgh region of the Regional Park and one of the few remaining colonies in the South East of Scotland: the small colony only occupies a two hectare area.

Guided bike rides in the Pentland Hills Regional Park

Take part in guided bike rides during National Bike Week. Discover fun routes for you to ride, have your bike checked over by Dr Bike and enjoy tea and cakes with the Friends of the Pentlands.

Booking: Essential - guided rides start at specific times

Suitable for children over 8 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
