Community Groups
The Pentland Hills offers many opportunities and experiences for groups to explore, discover, team work, be creative, gain confidence and expand their own personal boundaries. The Ranger Service tailor make visits for groups whether it is a guided walk or activities like pond dipping, exploring woodlands or a practical conservation task.
The Ranger Service is encouraging and flexible in their approach to each group, and to the individual. Every visit is special and unique and we have enjoyed visits from youth and retired groups and those with health and social needs, amongst others.
Feedback from participants has been positive, comments include 'Everyone had a great day' and '..found it a pleasure to liaise with yourselves...ranger...really pleasant and helpful and made the whole experience one to remember.'
Ranger-led visits are free; you just need to get your group to the Pentland Hills. Visits can be arranged and timed round public transport if required. The group leader is responsible for the group participants whilst with the Ranger. Groups involving children require a ratio of one adult for every eight child for visits which are not near water and one to five for those that are. All Countryside Rangers have a First Aid qualification. Community Group Booking Form.
