The Pentland Hills Regional Park offers
many opportunities to explore peaceful places, and open spaces
remarkably close to where people live, across the Lothians.
Most come for the fresh air,
peace and quiet and to be surrounded by nature and the elements.
This may involve an active energetic activity or enjoying a picnic
with family and friends at our picnic sites at Flotterstone, Bonaly,
Hillend or Harlaw.
There are over 100km of signposted
routes available across the hills enjoyed by over 600, 000 visitors
annually. We aim to provide, where possible or appropriate, multi-use
paths that can accommodate the varying means by which people enjoy
the hills. Making good use of paths too, will ensure the visitor
can minimise erosion and disturbance to wildlife and land management
around the park.
