Wilfred Owen in the Pentland Hills: guided walk and writing workshop

21 Oct 2017

Guided walk and writing workshop, recreating Owen's walk in the Pentland Hills exactly 100 years later - to the day.

Step back in time by retracing Wilfred Owen's footsteps. Guided walk following the war poet's route, with optional writing workshop.

This event is the second of two walks exploring routes in the Pentland Hills taken by Wilfred Owen and friends exactly 100 years previously. The walk will be led by the Chair of Wilfred Owen Edinburgh 1917-2017, Neil McLennan. There will be an optional writing workshop at the start and end of the walk, led by professional writer Helen Boden. Meeting place to be decided - watch this space, although it is likely to be either Craiglockhart or Bonaly Country Park.

The walk and workshop combined costs £8; if you would just like to attend the walk, it is £5. Booking is essential; please email to book your place. Please note you need to have a good level of fitness, and should bring a packed lunch, waterproofs and sturdy footwear. The walk is up to five miles long. The event may be cancelled in the case of adverse weather.

Time: 11:00 - 17:00

Location: Bonaly Country Park

Cost: £8
