Grouse Shooting

Published: Sunday, 14 August 2011

Grouse shooting starts in August

Monday 13th August sees the start of the annual grouse shooting season in the Pentland Hills Regional Park. Please look out for temporary signage which will provide information on where it is safe to access the hills during that day's shoot. This will avoid unintentional disturbance to the shoot and help gamekeepers know where to expect people to take access.

The grouse shooting season will finish on 10th December.

Another bird that is also shot in the Pentland Hills is the partridge. The shooting season starts on 1st September and ends 1st February.

For further information please contact the Ranger Service or refer to the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
