Threipmuir reservoir

Threipmuir reservoir is on the north-western side of the Regional Park, approximately a mile south of the village of Balerno. Car park facilities available at Threipmuir car park, approximately 150 metres from reservoir.

Malleny Angling Ltd hold the bank fishing rights to the north bank of Threipmuir Reservoir, from the fishing hut to the west, eastwards to Black Springs. The reservoir is stocked with brown trout. The Association was formed in 2001 to manage this fishery under a lease from Rosebery Estates. The Association has 100 members with an additional 10 season permit holders. Day-permits are available to visiting anglers and are obtainable from the Post Office, 3 Main Street, Balerno. 

The fishing season starts on the 1st April and closes on the 30th September. For full details contact Malleny Angling Ltd:

Threipmuir Angling Association (established 1893) hold the fishing rights for the boat angling and bank-fishing from the south shore.
