For beginners or people needing a refresher, basic skills for navigating when walking in the countryside.

Meet: Harlaw House Visitor Centre

Time: 9:30am – 4pm

Hillend wildflower survey CANCELLED

Help us survey the wildflowers in our managed meadow at Hillend Country Park.

GUIDED WALK Glencorse View and souterrain CANCELLED

Friday 14th August 2020

From Nobel Prize winners to an iron-age earth house; come and join the Pentland Hills Regional Park Service and take a step back in time as we have a closer look at some of the historical features and landscape that this area has to offer. This walk is part of Midlothian Outdoor Festival's timetable of events.

Meet: Flotterstone car park, next to Visitor Information Point / Pentland Hills Cafe Express

Time: 11am- 1pm

Bring: Sturdy footwear, waterproofs/sun protection.

GUIDED WALK Seven reservoirs CANCELLED

Saturday 22nd August

Catch a glimpse of seven of the reservoirs which provided a powerhouse to industry surrounding the Pentland Hills. This walk is moderate, and is only recommended for those comfortable with steep slopes in open country.

Time: 10:30am – 3:30pm

Come and find out how the Pentland Hills were created from volcanoes and glaciers on this moderate low level 7-mile walk. Over 16s only.

Christmas Wreath workshop CANCELLED

Wednesday 10th December

Make a beautiful Christmas wreath for your home using a variety of festive foliage.

Meet: Harlaw Visitor Centre

Time: 10:00am – 12pm OR

Bring: Gardening gloves and secateurs if you have them.
