Access and camping in the Regional Park

Following the onset of coronavirus the Regional Park has experienced extremes in traffic disruption and anti-social behaviour such as littering and "dirty camping". These issues all existed before, but they have been exacerbated by the covid-19 situation. Our inability to reopen toilets as quickly as we would like has led to toiletting outdoors, with associated hazards.

We need to tackle these issues, and are considering measures such as creation of a Warden position for campers, extra toilet facilities, improved parking facilities, and a charging scheme for our four main car parks.

The engagement exercise runs from 6 November until 4 December 2020.
