Threipmuir car park improvements

You can view the planning consent for works at Threipmuir car park (enter code 20/04598/CLP). A Certificate of Lawfulness application (20/04598/CLP) was submitted on 9 November 2020 and approved on 8 January 2021.

The car park has been restructured and expanded to create a total capacity of 74 spaces; including four blue badge bays and one long vehicle parking bay. In order to promote and facilitate sustainable travel methods, bike stands and a public bike pump and repair station have been installed.

Toilets were installed (April 2024) and removed from site after being vandalised (April 2024). New toilet facilities will be installed shortly and will be unisex and accessible. The provision of toilet facilities will help mitigate the impact of outdoor toileting at this hot spot, popular with recreational users including anglers and "wild" campers, and enhance the visitor experience. The toilets will open once the Building Warrant paperworks have been completed.

These improvement works are funded by Visit Scotland's Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund.
