Threipmuir car park improvements

You can view the planning consent for works at Threipmuir car park (enter code 20/04598/CLP). A Certificate of Lawfulness application (20/04598/CLP) was submitted on 9 November 2020 and approved on 8 January 2021.

Work to be done: better signage, restructuring/expansion of car park to create 34 new spaces (total capacity 76 spaces) and provision of four blue badge spaces, along with an ANPR car park charging system. Improvements will include three new bike stands, and a public bike pump and repair station. Installation of unisex and accessible toilets will mitigate outdoor toileting, and enhance the visitor experience.

The first phase of works, involving limited tree-felling, has been completed. This was done during winter 2022-23 in order to avoid bird-nesting season.

Construction is estimated to start at this site on 04 September 2023 for around 10 weeks; the car park will be closed for this period and a Temporary Traffic Restriction Order is in progress - this will prevent parking on country lanes nearby. Please plan your visit to the Regional Park bearing these restrictions in mind. We will keep the public informed of up-to-date works through signage on site, this website, and our Facebook page.
